ehhh..um, well, it does suck indeed. hundreds of ppl homeless now, and hundreds still missing. very sad and devastating.

thankfully, taipei (city but not county) relatively unscathed. watching tv is scary though. lots of crying on the news. its hard to imagine all that destruction and flooding only less than a hundred miles away on the same island.

ReplyDeleteit will be interesting to see the kind of media attention and civil engagement that comes out of this, and compare with Katrina, earthquake in China, tsumani in SE Asia... are we really the only ones looking out for our own peeps?
